Dr. A Cake

This summer when I was visiting my sister and her family in Columbia, SC, we visited a cupcake bakery in downtown. It was delicious! On the way home, my sister and I talked about me opening a real bakery one day and some of the things I would do. I came up with the idea of naming flavor combinations after the person who created it or someone I know who would love it. We came up with a few...
  • The GP (in honor of my grandfather): yellow cake and chocolate fudge icing
  • The Halliegator (in honor of my niece) : yellow cake and pink buttercream (with sprinkles!)
  • The George (in honor of the cutest dalmatian around): white cake with vanilla chocolate chip buttercream...because it looks like him!
So this week, I made a cake for Dr. A, my hand surgeon. It was a yellow/fudge marble cake, cream cheese icing, and crushed Oreos, and it has officially been named "The Dr. A!" The cake flavor can be changed, but The Dr. A means it will have cream cheese icing and crushed Oreos!

Here are some pictures that show the cake being made:
Yellow/fudge Marble Cake
Add a layer of Cream Cheese Icing
Sprinkle on some crushed Oreos
Repeat 3 times and end with the last layer of cake
Cover the entire thing with Cream Cheese Icing...as if what's between the layers isn't enough!
Some more crushed Oreos...
Add a border and a few more Oreos just for good measure...
and you have The Dr. A Cake!
Hope someone is enjoying the cake tonight!
